Instant Khaman Dhokla Recipe

Khaman Dhokla is a popular Gujarati snack that’s light, spongy, and flavorful. It’s perfect for breakfast, tea-time, or even as a side dish. With Kitchen Affairs’ Instant Khaman Dhokla Mix, you can prepare this delicious snack quickly and easily. Here’s how to make it at home:

Ingredients:

  • 1 packet of Instant Khaman Dhokla Mix (available at Kitchen Affairs)
  • 1 cup water (adjust as needed)
  • For Tempering:
    • 2 tbsp oil
    • 1 tsp mustard seeds
    • 1 tsp cumin seeds
    • 1 tsp sesame seeds
    • A pinch of asafoetida (hing)
    • 2 green chilies, slit lengthwise
    • A few curry leaves
    • 1/4 cup water
    • 1 tbsp sugar

Instructions:

To make Khaman Dhokla

  • Take required water in cooker place the steel ring of 2 inches high
    at the bottom of cooker & heat on the high flame.
  • Add 650 ml of (4 cup) water & 15 ml. (1 table spoon) oil in 500g
    khaman mix spoon gently to make the paste smooth.
  • Grease inner surface of aluminum pot with oil & pore the paste &
    close the lid, do not keep whistle on lid.
    Turn the flame high for 20 minutes & allow the steam to pass out

  • Stop the gas & wait till 10 minutes until cooker cools down.Take out cooked khaman & cut into 2-2 inches for frying.

Microwave Cooking :

  • Add 650 ml. of water & 15 ml. oil in 500g khaman mix spoon
    gently to make the paste smooth.
  • Grease the plastic bowl with oil form all sides.
  • Pour the paste in bowl & keep it in the microwave mode at max. temp for 5-8 min. Frying – Heat about 6 table spoon oil,add mustard seeds & small piece of green chilly & fry. Mix 4 table spoon sugar in 250 ml of water & boil. Spray it evenly on Khaman, Sprinkle chopped green coriander, grated coconut on it. enjoy with green chutney & Bareek sev.
