Instant Idli Recipe

Idli is a popular South Indian breakfast dish known for its soft and fluffy texture. It’s light, healthy, and pairs perfectly with sambar and coconut chutney. With Kitchen Affairs’ Instant Idli Mix, you can whip up this classic dish in no time. Here’s a simple recipe to make instant idlis at home:

Ingredients:

  • 1 packet of Instant Idli Mix (available at Kitchen Affairs)
  • 1 cup water (adjust as needed)
  • For Garnishing (optional):
    • 1 tbsp oil
    • 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
    • A few curry leaves
    • 1 tbsp chopped coriander leaves

Instructions:

  • Heat required amount of water in Idli Maker on low flame.
  • Add 800ml. of water & 2 table spoon oil in Idli Mix.
    Stir to smooth batter & leave for 10 minutes.
  • Grase Idli Maker with oil & fill up Idli Paste & close the lid.
  • Turn off the burner & wait till cooker cool down.
  • Take out cooked idli & serve with Sambhar & Coconut Chutney.

Microwave Cooking :

  • Safe Idli Maker can be used to make 8 Idlis at time. Pour half a cup of water into the bottom plate. Pour the idli batter into the moulds in the idli stand. (Take care to fill 3/4 of each mould only since the idli will rise upon cooking) place the stand over the bottom plate and shut it with the cover. Put this in your microwave oven and cook for 5-6 minutes on medium (80%) power or for 3-4 minutes on high (100%) power. Remove irom the Microwave and let it stand to cool for 2 minutes. Take out cooked idli & serve with Sambhar & Coconut Chutney.
